Duty Drawback Bond
A Duty Drawback Bond is a form of a Customs Bond (CBP Form 301) which acts as assurance to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) that the Drawback Claimant guarantees that the claim made for the refund of duties and taxes were made in compliance to CBP laws and regulations. The bond protects the revenue of the United States and is essentially a contract between the Claimant and CBP that if refund has been made by CBP and there is an error discovered after the refund (within the time limit allowed by law), CBP may request the Claimant to pay the money back to CBP with the bond as the guarantee. A Drawback Bond is mandatory for Claimants wishing to receive refunds on an Accelerated Payment basis.
