Drawback Applications

N.F. Stroth and Associates establishes a drawback program for our clients by applying to U.S. Customs and Border Protection for Drawback Privileges. This allows our clients more flexibility when exporting and accelerates the duty refund process.

The application process consists of the following elements:

Accelerated Payment Privilege allows a claimant to request payment at the time a drawback claim is filed. In the absence of this privilege, a claimant must wait until a US Customs Drawback Specialist liquidates the claim. This process can take up to 18 months. Under accelerated payment, claims are normally paid within 45 days of filling.

Waiver of Prior Notice serves to expedite the claiming process. With this privilege the client will not have to notifyCustoms and Border Protection when exporting.

One Time Waiver allows the client to claim all eligible exportations within the last three years.

Operational Narrative shows the applicant's document flow.

Once drawback applications are submitted to Customs, it usually takes between 90 and 120 days to receive approval. During this time our firm works with our clients to establish procedures and start the actual claim process.
